Executive Summary
Gibraltar Strategic Advisory was engaged by Cattle Australia, one of our clients, to modernise the Land Management Commitment (LMC) into a clear national policy platform that industry, government, and markets can trust.
Strategic Policy, Definitions, and National Implementation Framework
Working alongside Churchill & Associates, GSA delivered a complete strategic and technical reset of the LMC, including:
A unified national policy on sustainable land management, aligned with global expectations and Australian law.
Updated definitions of forest, deforestation, agricultural use, remedy, and offsets, giving producers and supply chains clear and consistent language.
A three-tier assurance model to support voluntary participation, market credibility, and future trade requirements.
A phased implementation plan covering pilot regions, GIS and satellite verification, and alignment with LPA, ABSF, MLA and ISC frameworks.
A full stakeholder and engagement strategy for producers, government agencies, supply chains, and assurance partners.
Key Outcomes
The outcome is a producer-led, nationally consistent and trade-ready framework that positions Cattle Australia as an authoritative voice on sustainable land management.
This project provides the foundation for future pilots, data partnerships, and national rollout across 2025–2027.
